What began as a sustained engagement with photography developed into a professional practice in Mumbai, built through film, darkroom discipline and commissioned image-making.
1998 · Photography and technology
Bawa began creating stereoscopic imagery and went on to produce pioneering 3D magazine covers in India, including work for ELLE.
2004 · Independent publishing
The limited-edition publication brought photography together with painting, sculpture, personal letters, notes and poetry—an early expression of the wider visual practice.
2009–2012 · PX3 and international awards
Advertising, fashion, automotive and photojournalism work received prizes and honours internationally, while the 3D work travelled across multiple countries.
2010s · Direction
Photography expanded into fashion films and socially engaged shorts. The Long Show was nominated at the La Jolla Fashion Film Festival, while Changvei was selected among Vogue India’s notable fashion films.
2018–2023 · Campaigns, art and education
Major campaigns, exhibitions, lectures, juries and masterclasses extended the practice across brands, institutions, photography education and public culture.
Now · One visual system
The current practice connects three decades of image craft with direction, end-to-end production and human-led AI—using new tools without surrendering authorship or judgment.
